This tele-seminar introduces and explores the foundational concepts and values of Commonway and the Common Society Movement. Find out what inclusivity, authenticity and “a world for all” mean in your daily life and practice. This will be a great opportunity for those who are new to Commonway and/or those who want a refresher. Series One dates will be announced shortly.


Session 01:

First Hour: What Do We Mean by “A World That Works for All”?

(Exploring a key Commonway concept. Is “a world that works for all” possible? Desirable? Inevitable?)

Second Hour: The Need/ The Mission/ The Vision

(Understanding the vision and values of the 21st Century)

Session 02:

First Hour: Five Foundational Values of Our Work

(Understanding and clarity around values)

Second Hour: What is Inclusivity?

(Further exploration of a foundational value. Learning how to “engage the Other”.)



Session 03:

First Hour: Changing the Story

(Changing individual thinking and behavior is not enough – we must understand and change systems and stories)

Second Hour: Individuals, Systems and Societies

(Do we change individual people, or systems, or whole societies? We must do all three…)



Session 04:

First Hour: Vision, Part One: Fixing What’s Wrong

(We must truly attend to a society that is falling apart around us.)

Second Hour: Vision, Part Two: Doing What’s Right

(Fixing the problems is not enough – we must truly envision the society our children will inherit)



Session 05:

First Hour: Signs of Things to Come

(Exploration of key Commonway activities)

Second Hour: What We Must Do

(Things that each of us can – and must – do at the local level to encourage a world that works for all)
